JNR Holding Co. acquires Huisken Meats

Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, October 15, 2002: Huisken Meat Company of Sauk Rapids Inc. has become a wholly owned subsidiary of JNR Holding Company as of October 4, 2002. JNR Holding Company, known for innovative premium quality products, exceptional customer service and a strong commitment to food safety is owned by Wayne “Red” Courtney, Jim Hanson and Neal Karels, also owns Rochester Meat Company located in Rochester, Minnesota.

Huisken Meat Company of Sauk Rapids, Inc. produces high-quality Huisken brand beef patties made from 100% pure beef. In 2000, Huisken became the first manufacturer to introduce electronically irradiated beef patties to the market. The SureBeam™ irradiation process uses ordinary electricity to kill harmful bacteria. Cliff Albertson, manager of sales and marketing for Huisken Meats for several years, has been named General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of Huisken Meat Company of Sauk Rapids, Inc. Cliff has a national reputation as a leader in the irradiated food movement and has nearly 20 years of meat industry leadership experience at Huisken.
